Assureg Managing Director Craig Nazzaro was quoted by S&P Global Market Intelligence in an article titled “Banks can expect return to strict oversight of anti-money laundering rules.” The article discussed how banks may now face increased enforcement from regulators as the U.S. emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. Nazzaro explained how supervisory teams at regulatory agencies, in response to potential new enforcement, have proactively asked about artificial intelligence. “If you're deploying it, they're keenly interested in what your oversight of it was — what the internal subject matter expertise was for the bank that's being supervised,” he said.
